If music be the food of love, play on. ~Shakespeare, Twelfth Night

There were many things I came across today that I thought I would share with you, but my topic of choice today is music...

My music career started in forth grade when I decided I wanted to play the flute. That career was short lived by my short attention span and lack of discipline to practice. In the sixth grade, my musical instrument career was ended. Although I may have very little professional instrumental experience the urge to learn to play has always been with me.

Throughout my high school years many of my friends took lessons to play the guitar. And it was during those years I wanted to learn to play the guitar more than anything. I tried my hand at it, but failed yet again due to my lack of discipline and coordination-- I just couldn't get it. It wouldn't be until my sophomore year in college that I would get another chance at instrumental success.

Instead of taking an art class, I had my heart set on a piano class for my creative expression requirement. I was so exctied for the class, and completely devasted when I almost didn't get in. However, devine powers interviened and I was alloted a seat in the class. Everyday I have the class I cannot wait to go.

Today I learned...
My C major scale on the piano.

:) and I couldn't be happier to be on my way to becoming the next Mozart

  1. Maggie that is so great that you are learning how to play the piano. It is always fun to try something new. Keep practicing and you will be playing like Mozart in no time!
